- Honorary ISO 9000 consultants
Three consultants were appointed by the Federation to help raise the awareness on ISO and provide members with advice that is free of charge on ISO certification.
Promotion Activities within the Industry
- Study Mission to Myanmar
The Federation held a five-day tour to Myanmar from June 25 to 29, 1999 to explore the unfamiliar Myanmar market.
- Industry innovation, technology explored
The Federation plans to actively make enquiry with several large watch and clock groups and members to promote innovation and technology related to the watch and clock industry.

Watch and clock industry training and educational promotion
- 2-year diploma course on basics of the timepieces industry
A two-year watch and clock trade and industry diploma course has been developed by the Department of Manufacturing Engineering of the Hong Kong Vocational Institute of Education (Lee Wai Lee), with the help of the Federation and the Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association.
- Weekend technology development course
A vocational training course on technology development is offered during weekends by the Hong Kong Vocational Institute of Education (Tsing Yi)'s Manufacturing Engineering Department.
Joint activities with other local or overseas watch and clock industry-asssociated federations
- Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association (HKWMA)
Regular meetings held to uplift industry promotion Regular meetings between the Federation and the HKWMA aim to uplift industry promotion, work on mutual goals and strive for the members' mutual benefits.
- China Horologe Federation
Focus on mutual development, cooperation The two-year old Horologe Federation aims to enhance communication, cooperation and to promote mutual development.
Branded Watch and Clock Guide Publication A publication intended to promote the sales of the world's branded watches and clocks, new products, styles and sales channels of China-, Hong Kong- and Taiwan-made branded watches and clocks.
- Korea Watch and Clock Industry Cooperative
Visit to KOWIC The Federation held a Korea 4-Day Tour last October 16 to 19, 1998 and visited the Korea Watch and Clock Industry Cooperative and the Military Prohibited Area.

Communication ties with other major business associations:
- Meeting with FHKI chairman
Technology development, high exhibition fees top the discussion at the meeting with Federation of HK Industries Chairman Henry Tang last January 7, 1999.
- Visit to the HK General Chamber of Commerce
Container terminal charges, the performance of the HKTDC and the HKPC, and the fund allocation scheme of the Government to aid the industry were among the issues discussed at the meeting last January 15, 1999.
- Visit to the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce
Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Chairman Dr. Robin Chan and Assistant Treasurer Tang Kwan met with representatives of the Federation last January 15, 1999. Both gave a backgrounder on their groups.
